Dean of Bayan College presents research at International TESOL Union Conference in Singapore

The Dean of Bayan College represented the college at the International TESOL Union Conference 2026, held on 30–31 July 2026 at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy in Singapore. This year's conference was themed "Human–AI Partnership in ELT: Designing Human-Centred, AI-Enabled Pedagogy," bringing together researchers and educators from around the world to explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and English language teaching.

I was delighted to present our research paper today at the International Conference in Singapore," said the Dean. "My sincere thanks and appreciation go to my fellow researchers, Dr. Jinan Issa, Dr. Faiza Al-Dhuhliya, and Ms. Amal Al-Hinai, for their valuable collaboration and contributions to this research.

The paper, co-authored with this team of researchers, explored the use of Generative AI tools among students in public and private universities across the Sultanate of Oman. The study examined patterns of use, frequency, and the underlying motivations driving students to adopt these tools in their academic work — offering timely insight into how Omani higher education is engaging with generative AI as it becomes an increasingly central part of student life.

The International TESOL Union Conference is indexed under the Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science) and Elsevier Scopus, reflecting its standing as a recognized venue for research in English language teaching and applied linguistics.
